Chakra Three: Fire, Ego identity, oriented to self-definition

This chakra is variously interpreted as intellectual (because of association with the colour yellow - see Christopher Hills) and as the power chakra, or the connection with the universe (as in Mantak Chia's Navel center).  The location is given variously as the navel and the solar plexus. The association can therefore be either thinking or willing.  This confusion comes about because several different chakras are generally confused here as one.  As willing this center rules personal power, will, and autonomy, as well as our metabolism, and gives energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and non-dominating power.
